Capacity
Building
In
association with Tamil Nadu Corporation for Development of Women, all
group members are provided extensive training to enhance their capacity
in
• Managing groups, updating records and maintaining records
• Fixing criteria for loans, screening applications, follow up and monitoring
•Creating awareness on their role in strengthening Panchayat Institutions
• Reproductive child health, prevention of communicable diseases such
as TB, HIV/AIDS
• Environmental sanitation
• Human rights and legal rights of women
• Gender equality
There
has been continued emphasis on training group members and leaders for
their effective functioning and enhanced capacity to face any situation.
To enable the groups to maintain their own accounts , group accountants
have been given training in maintaining accounts. Now most groups maintain
their records and prepare monthly financial statement of the groups.
As a result the role of CRUSADE field level staff has been redefined.
Legal
woman consultants are often engaged to train cluster leaders in addressing
women’s issues ( including recourse to legal action). A gender specialist
trained staff and select federation leaders who will in turn train others.
The concept of having joint meeting at village level with all group
members help in resolving problems of the groups and to address women’s
and village issues. The problems which defies solution at village level
are taken to Panchayat Level Federations.
Towards
the end of every month CRUSADE field staff and PLF secretaries meet
in each block to plan for the subsequent month and to review activities
in the current month. This joint meetings help build good rapport between
Federation and the organization.
