Last
year CRUSADE trained TAI partner NGO staff in SHG management. Tamil
Nadu AIDS Initiative ( TAI ) requested CRUSADE to do a follow-up of
this training (on SHG management) to partner NGOs . CRUSADE organized
the training in two batches of three days each in August, 2006 giving
the follow up training to 41 NGO staff from 12 districts. It would be
interesting to note that unlike in earlier training conducted for TAI
, most sessions were handled by CRUSADE staff themselves. Thus it was
a capacity building process for CRUSADE staff also. Now the staff are
confident of training other NGO staff in SHG concept. The experience
will be of help in coordinating capacity building of electedrepresentatives
of Panchayat Institutions from other districts.
